Good morning!

It's my turn to CASE one of your lovely creations!  I chose Heather's fantastic card below!

 

 

I loved her stars & flags which are very trendy right now!  She has a great layout here as well.  I kept the layout the same but changed up the colors to Melon Mambo, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, & Basic Black.  I added some flourishes, Candy Dots, & Rhinestones as well.

We've seen Blown Ink all over lately but what if you use something besides cardstock or watercolor paper? 

 

For this card, I used vellum for my Blown Ink Base.  The best tip I have is make sure you have something underneath your paper whether it is vellum, cardstock, etc, to catch any drips.  I used a place beneath mine just in case. :)  The vellum tends to curl as it dries but you can flatten it back out again.  I spritzed the paper with some Shimmer Mist before I die cut the butterflies.

I also played around with some Glimmer Paper too!  ;)  For my next card I used Red Glimmer paper with Basic Black reinker.  A word of caution - Take the time to let this dry!  Three days after I did this one morning before I left for work, it was still wet!  Make sure you dab the extra blown ink with a paper towel &  follow up with a heat gun.

I used the Glimmer Paper in several different ways here.  I created the cupcake (the ink looks like dripping frosting) along with the flags & the accent polka dots.

CASE Study 145

I received some fun new items & had a chance to play last night!  Inspiration struck again this morning and here's the result. 

I've been wanting some musical note DSP for a while now but I saw the Musical Notes Wheel Stamp and knew it was kismet! :)  The great thing about the wheel stamps - you can create a whole page of stamps images and cut as you need to add to your projects.

After adding some stars from the Simply Stars stamp set, a spritz of SMOOCH, & some pearls, I was set to go! :)

I think I'll enter this in the CASE Study #145 challenge.

Technique Time Tuesday: Faux Chalkboard

Smoke & Sky

The Play Date Cafe has a fantastic color challenge this week - Smoky Plum, Cherry Blossom, & Lava. I went pretty literal with it b/c I was so inspired by the lovely inspiration photo.  I used watercolor crayons & shimmer mist to create the sky below on vellum.  I then ran it through the Big Shot & the Cloudy Day Textured Embossing Folder.

Subway Art Congrats

SUO Challenges has another great challenge up - Retiring Stamp Sets!  One of my favorite retiring stamp sets is Word Play!  I totally wore this stamp set out!  It's just awesome!  So when I needed to create my cousin, Austin's grad card I immediately pulled it off the shelf!  Four super perfect sentiments awaited me & how easy-peasy to use them for a little Subway Art! :)
